Our Success:
In 2005-2006:
- We published 62 e-newsletters, News You Can Use, in 2005 & 2006
- We raised over $10,000 to inform and persuade women voters to elect progressive women candidates
- We coordinated the Coalition Against the “War on Women” of over 20 diverse religious, labor, political, reproductive and equal rights organizations, fighting Governor Blunt’s attacks on birth control in the media and at the State Capitol.
- We continued to work closely with our sister group, the St. Charles Women’s Coalition, which began with just 4 women in May 2003 and now number over 500 members
In 2004:
- Over 750 women volunteers “adopted five undecided single women voters during the 2004 Presidential Campaign
- Over 3300 women attended “Women for Kerry” statewide events
- Over 5500 “Women to Women” phone calls were made to undecided women voters in just 9 nights by volunteer Democrat Divas with overwhelming responses
- Thousands of women volunteered their time and energy for the John Kerry Presidential Campaign in Columbia, Dexter, Joplin, Kansas City, Kirksville, Rolla, Springfield, Warrensburg, St. Joseph, St. Louis and many other towns
- A record number of Missouri women candidates ran for office including four progressive Democratic women for statewide offices (setting a national record!)
